Northwest Bank Names Michael Pietropaoli as Head of Commercial Real Estate Lending

michaelpietropaoliheadshot.pngRochester, New York (February 27, 2023) - With more than 15 years of commercial real estate expertise, Michael Pietropaoli has been named senior vice president, head of Commercial Real Estate Lending for Northwest Bank. Mark Reitzes, head of commercial banking, made the announcement.

“We are pleased to have Mike leading our Commercial Real Estate team,” said Reitzes. “During his tenure with Northwest, his extensive experience and exceptional leadership have helped us deliver an outstanding client experience. We look forward to building on this success with Mike in this new role.”

Pietropaoli joined the Northwest Commercial Lending team in April 2022, serving as a commercial market executive. In that role, he managed lending activity throughout western New York, Pittsburgh metro and the eastern Pennsylvania region.

Pietropaoli said, “I’m excited to join the established commercial lending team at Northwest and help advance its commercial real estate business throughout the region. I look forward to working with my partners across the bank to help take our commercial real estate solutions to the next level, delivering best-in-class solutions for our customers.”

In his role, Pietropaoli will lead Northwest commercial real estate opportunities across the bank’s four-state footprint, including Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York. With a passion for developing strong business development opportunities for clients, Pietropaoli is excited to connect Northwest Bank clients with the solutions, resources and personalized guidance they need to ensure continued business growth and success. 

Prior to joining Northwest, Pietropaoli served as vice president for KeyBank Real Estate Capital. He also held roles at development companies, BB&T Bank and M&T Bank.

Pietropaoli earned his master’s degree in real estate development from John Hopkins University’s Carey School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Loyola University.

Active in his community, Pietropaoli previously served on the Rochester Downtown Development Corporation board of directors and is a member of the National Association for Industrial and Office Parks (NAIOP) Upstate Chapter. Pietropaoli also takes time to mentor others and often volunteers as a guest speaker for Leadership Rochester, where he is also a former program graduate. 

The son of Sandra and the late John Pietropaoli of Pittsford, New York, Michael resides in Pittsford with his wife, Joanna and daughters, Annie, Caroline and Lucy.
