Todd Henley Named Among Founding Members of a Global Data Program for Innovative Benchmarking


Columbus, Ohio (March 19, 2024) – Represented by Chief Data Governance and Privacy Officer, Todd Henley, Northwest Bank, a full-service financial institution offering a complete line of business and personal banking solutions, has been named among a group of experts as founding members of a new groundbreaking data management program run by the EDM Council – the Data Excellence Program. The newly formed group, comprised of leaders from prominent financial institutions across the globe, has embarked on a mission to enhance industry standards and foster excellence in data management.

Representing Northwest on the EDM Council is Chief Data Governance and Privacy Officer Todd Henley.

As Northwest’s Chief Data Governance and Privacy Officer, Todd Henley’s profound understanding of data governance, risk management and regulatory compliance is uniquely positioned to contribute to the program’s mission.

"I am honored to be appointed as a founding member of EDM Council’s esteemed program and excited to contribute to the advancement of data management practices within the financial services industry,” Henley said. “By participating in this pioneering benchmarking program, we aim to empower other banks and financial institutions with the knowledge and insights needed to navigate the complexities of data governance and drive strategic decision-making. Through this process, I learned that Northwest’s data program is punching above its weight and light years ahead of far larger institutions."

Henley’s work with the Data Excellence Program along with other founding members will address Data Management Team Training and Certification based on the Data Management Capability Assessment Model (DCAM) framework; Independent Assessments and Capability Improvement Plans conducted with EDM Council Certified Partners; Recognition for Achievement; and Global Data Management Benchmark Repository development.

With the appointment of its founders, the EDM Council’s new Data Excellence Program completed its first phase – establishing its founding members – which includes Northwest as one of 16 financial institutions, service providers and consulting firms. Founding participants include the Depository Trust and Clearing Corp. (DTCC), Freddie Mac, KPMG, the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), Northern Trust, Raymond James, Standard Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp., and T. Rowe Price, among others.

The Data Excellence Program seeks to provide participating financial entities with invaluable insights into their data management practices by comparing and rating them against industry peers. By leveraging comprehensive benchmarks and best practices, the financial sector will be empowered to optimize their data management strategies, enhance operational efficiency and drive sustainable growth in today’s digital age.
