Northwest’s Rick Hamister Recognized in Buffalo Business First’s 2024 Power 250

Buffalo, New York - We’re excited to share that Buffalo Business First included Rick Hamister, president of the Great Lakes Region, on its 2024 Power 250 list!

Hamister placed at No. 65 because of his contributions to the region’s economic status, unparalleled leadership, innovation and dedication to service. The publication’s annual list includes the region's most influential people, both longtime power players and those just beginning to shape the future of Western New York.

Since his appointment as Northwest region president in 2018, Hamister has overseen much of the bank’s five-year, $102 million community benefits plan in the Buffalo community, including heading Northwest’s strategic expansion, community engagement and revitalization efforts within the Jefferson Avenue neighborhood.

“I am honored to be recognized among such an esteemed list of leaders in our community,” said Hamister. “This achievement reflects the collective efforts of our incredible team at Northwest. I am grateful for the support of my colleagues, mentors, and our valued customers who have been instrumental in our success. This recognition motivates me to continue striving for excellence and innovation in the financial services sector.”

Hamister continues to lead Northwest’s expansion of its regional headquarters in the Buffalo market. In addition to his role at Northwest, Hamister is also active in many community organizations, serving as a board member for Buffalo Niagara Partnership, Hilbert College and the Hauptmann Woodward Institute.
